Gotta keep the mumma fed! For dinner tonight Fina had:

- beef mince
- Lamb organ mince (heart, kidney, liver)
- Two duck feet
- Goat milk kefir
- Frozen blueberries
- Free-range egg
- Calcium powder from @_naturalanimalsolutions to give her a little boost whilst she’s lactating

Fifteen days old and we’ve all got eyes! Well, except for Melon and Mango who really DO have them open a little bit but want to pretend a little bit longer.

9 days old - we now need two hands to hold them 🧡 Eyes aren’t too far off judging by the resistance to being in the bright sunlight!

Keeping Fina happy and healthy whilst she rears her puppies begins with a continuous supply of good nutrition. We mix it up a fair bit to ensure she’s hitting all her requirements but this morning’s second breakfast consisted of:

- Big Dog Active blend
- Beef organ mince
- Pink salmon
- Greek yogurt
- Livamol for a general boost
- Slippery elm powder for digestion
- Frozen blueberries for antioxidants (and they’re her favourite).

She licked the bowl clean - but honestly, she would do so if it was a bowl of rice. This girl can eat!

Todays scent exposure was to a tennis ball cut open so they could really smell the rubber. As you can see, some puppies were intrigued (or wanted to use the jar as a pillow) whilst others didn’t want a bar of it. Tomorrow is cloves! ☺️

5 days old and turning into little puddings!

The puppies have started their brain games early in the form of Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). These are both valuable techniques used to help puppies grow into confident, well-adjusted adults.

ENS involves exposing puppies to mild, controlled stressors during the first few weeks of life (between days 3 and 16). This helps strengthen their nervous system, making them more resilient, adaptable, and less likely to get anxious in new situations. It’s like giving their brains and bodies a gentle workout, which encourages healthy development.

ESI, on the other hand, focuses on introducing puppies to different smells during this same critical time. Since puppies’ sense of smell is developing rapidly, gently exposing them to a variety of scents helps stimulate their senses, builds curiosity, and improves their ability to process and react to the world around them.

When used together, ENS and ESI is a good first step in helping puppies become more confident, adaptable, and comfortable in different environments, hopefully making them better equipped to handle new experiences, people, and situations as they grow up. It’s all about giving them the best start in life!

In birth order we have our “fruity” litter 🫐🥝🍉 Everyone is doing well!

Fina and Milo welcomed their litter this morning with a rapid fire birth of eight puppies - four girls and four boys. All over in a couple of hours! All the puppies are great birth weights and Fina is doing excellently, though understandably pretty knackered. I’ll be emailing everyone who has been waiting on news today after we’ve recuperated a bit 😊

The big 4 for our big gentle boy! Our token Spanish Water Dog, he’s equal parts sweet and rambunctious. Frisbee obsessed, people loving, toddler tolerant, and hopelessly goofy - we are so lucky to have you! ❤️

Clementine is four! 💛 We love you, sweet silly girl. She spent the day getting cuddles at work from anyone who offered and eating as much pupcake as we allowed in a 2 minute period. Here’s to 14 more years 🥰

The girls had a big adventure learning all about traffic, shops, construction, and people walking around today. They’re a bit confused why not every single person wants to pat them, but learning that not everyone is going to fawn over them is important too! 😉

We have one last puppy left looking for her forever home 🏠 We have held onto her a little longer as we were debating keeping her but have decided she’s too sweet to keep all to ourselves! She’s ready to go home to her new family now, please send us a message for more information 🐶❤️

The little kids went for a grand adventure to Melbourne on Sunday to all get their first big kid groom. Early exposure to professional grooming is an essential part of socialising your non-shedding puppy. They were very well behaved for nearly nine weeks old!

She left with her bag of goodies which includes food she was raised on @bigdogpetfoods, @zealandiapets & @tasteofthewild.
Her first collar and leash from @rogz_au.
And a couple of treats to keep her entertained @getwag.
Along with all the relevant information on how to give your puppy the best possible chance to thrive! 🤩
